And JD Vance fights back after this Leftist media outlet tries to corner him.

JD Vance Shines in Face the Nation Interview, Sparking Republican Applause

Vice President JD Vance delivered a commanding performance during a Sunday appearance on CBS’s Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan, leaving many Republican lawmakers and strategists applauding his composure and pointed arguments. The interview, which quickly gained traction online, centered on contentious topics such as immigration, national security, and economic policy.

During the discussion, Brennan pressed Vance on refugee admissions, stating, “Refugee screening takes 18 to 24 months to go through. They are heavily vetted.” Brennan referenced President Joe Biden’s refugee policies and questioned whether Vance still supported his previous remarks that the U.S. should not abandon properly vetted allies.

Vance countered, expressing skepticism about the thoroughness of the vetting process. He cited the case of Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi, an Afghan national who entered the U.S. on a “special immigrant visa” after the chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan. Tawhedi was later charged with conspiring to provide material support to ISIS and planning a terrorist attack on U.S. soil. Vance argued, “We know that there are cases of people who allegedly were properly vetted and then were literally planning terrorist attacks in our country.”

The exchange grew more heated as Brennan insisted that refugees undergo rigorous screening, prompting Vance to point to Tawhedi’s case as evidence of systemic failures. “He was allegedly properly vetted,” Vance said, adding, “Clearly, he wasn’t.”

The vice president’s firm stance on the issue resonated with Republicans. GOP strategist Andrew Surabian described the interaction as an embarrassment for Brennan. “At what point will these leftwing media hacks figure out that they’re no match for JD?” asked Donald Trump Jr.

Sen. Jim Banks (R-IN) and Sen. Tim Sheehy (R-MT) echoed this sentiment, criticizing what they viewed as Brennan’s defense of flawed immigration policies. Banks questioned why the media often prioritizes the welfare of immigrants over American citizens, while Sheehy pointed to the Afghanistan withdrawal as a glaring example of Biden’s mismanagement.

Immigration, Economy, and Military Reform Take Center Stage

Vance also tackled broader issues, including the impact of immigration policy on American neighborhoods. “I don’t want my children to share a neighborhood with people who are not properly vetted, and because I don’t want it for my kids, I’m not going to force any other American citizens’ kids to do that either,” he said.

When Brennan suggested that the U.S. is a nation founded by immigrants, Vance pushed back, stating, “just because we were founded by immigrants, doesn’t mean that 240 years later we have to have the dumbest immigration policy in the world.”

Shifting to economic concerns, Vance discussed the administration’s plans to lower energy costs and, by extension, grocery prices. He explained that lower diesel prices would directly benefit farmers and consumers. “How does bacon get to the grocery store? It comes on trucks that are fueled by diesel fuel. If the diesel is way too expensive, the bacon is going to become more expensive,” he reasoned.

Vance also addressed the Senate’s narrow confirmation of Pete Hegseth as Secretary of Defense. He praised Hegseth as a necessary disruptor in a military system plagued by inefficiency and recruitment challenges. “That disruption is incredibly necessary,” Vance argued. “If you think about all of those bipartisan, massive votes, we have to ask ourselves, what did they get us?”

Defending Tulsi Gabbard and Restoring Trust in Intelligence Services

Brennan questioned Vance about Tulsi Gabbard, Trump’s nominee for Director of National Intelligence, citing criticism from conservative outlets. Vance dismissed the critiques, defending Gabbard’s military experience and character. “She is a career military servant who’s had a classification at the highest levels for nearly two decades,” he said. Vance emphasized the need for reform in intelligence agencies, which he accused of political weaponization.

Political commentator Steve Cortes praised Vance’s approach, noting his ability to dismantle media narratives with a calm and collected demeanor. Former Florida GOP Chair Christian Ziegler suggested that Vance’s media skills be utilized in further interviews to highlight White House policies.

Republicans Rally Behind Vance

The interview reinforced Vance’s role as a key figure in the Trump administration. His no-nonsense approach and sharp rebuttals earned him widespread support from Republican leaders and commentators. Rumored Senate candidate Nate Morris summed up the sentiment, calling for a zero-tolerance approach to immigration: “No exceptions. No carveouts. Zero tolerance.”

As the interview continues to circulate, it serves as a reminder of Vance’s ability to articulate conservative principles while taking on mainstream media—a quality that has made him a rising star within the Republican Party.
