Walz is still bitter about his election defeat. Now he’s spreading rumors about Trump to get revenge.
And Tim Walz was caught red-handed making this absurd lie about Donald Trump.
Speculation Swirls Over Possible Chauvin Pardon
Rumors are circulating that President Trump might consider pardoning Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted in the 2020 death of George Floyd. Despite Trump’s earlier statement that he was unaware of any such plans, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and other Democratic figures have seized on the speculation, fueling a heated public debate.
Sources within the Department of Justice, speaking to the New York Post on Wednesday, confirmed they have no knowledge of any discussions regarding clemency for Chauvin. Yet, Walz, who ran alongside Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, didn’t hesitate to address the online buzz.
Speaking to reporters this week, he noted that the Trump administration hasn’t indicated any intent to grant a pardon but suggested, “With this presidency, it seems like that might be something they would do.”
Walz, quoted by the Minnesota Star Tribune, emphasized Minnesota’s readiness to respond if a pardon were issued. “If Donald Trump exercises his constitutional right to do so, whether I agree — and I strongly disagree with him — if he issues that pardon, we will simply transfer Derek Chauvin to serve out his 22 and a half years in prison in Minnesota,” he said.
Minneapolis Community Safety Commissioner Toddrick Barnette echoed this preparedness, highlighting the city’s proactive stance. “Since 2020, we’ve overhauled our emergency management plans and out of an abundance of caution are planning for any eventuality,” Barnette stated, signaling the city’s vigilance amid the uncertainty.
Even if Trump were to pardon Chauvin, the former officer would not walk free. Chauvin was convicted in both state and federal courts for Floyd’s k*lling, which ignited nationwide protests and caused billions in property damage.
A federal pardon would only shift Chauvin from federal custody to a Minnesota state prison to continue serving his sentence.
When asked about a potential pardon in March at the White House, Trump dismissed the idea, saying, “No, I haven’t even heard about it.” This aligns with the lack of concrete evidence from federal sources, yet the speculation persists, driven partly by vocal supporters within Trump’s base.
President Trump should, as we have been calling for, pardon Chauvin. One of the biggest reasons Chauvin was convicted was jury and political intimidation by rioters. Now the same people who helped railroad him are concerned that people might riot if justice is done. https://t.co/HaAx4gTADa

The k*lling of George Floyd, a Black man, by Chauvin, a white officer, sparked weeks of unrest, with rioters in Minneapolis burning down a police precinct. Chauvin pleaded guilty to federal charges related to Floyd’s death in 2021 and was also convicted on state charges of m*rder and manslaughter.
During his 2022 federal sentencing, a judge admonished him, stating, “I really don’t know why you did what you did. To put your knee on a person’s neck until they expired is simply wrong. … Your conduct is wrong and it is offensive.”
Notably, the civil rights investigation into Chauvin began under Trump’s first administration, adding complexity to the narrative. Still, some prominent MAGA voices are advocating for clemency.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) took to social media Wednesday, declaring, “I strongly support Derek Chauvin being pardoned and released from prison.”

As the debate rages on, Minnesota stands prepared even though Chauvin being pardoned by Trump is simply a rumor that’s being peddled by Tim Walz in order to sow turmoil and chaos in the president’s administration.
