Donald Trump has played the Democrats for fools. And now there’s nothing they can do to stop him.
And Trump is grinning ear to ear after scoring a major victory.
Broad Support for Trump’s Border Enforcement
A national survey conducted by TIPP Insights for the League of American Workers from June 9-11, highlights strong public backing for President Trump’s stringent immigration policies.
The poll, taken amid tensions following violent protests in Los Angeles, shows 65% of Americans crediting Trump for enhanced border control, with independent voters echoing this at 63%. This comes as Customs and Border Protection reports a 95% drop in “gotaways”—undetected illegal crossings—compared to the Biden administration’s peak, per CBP data cited by Fox News.
The survey also reveals 68% of Americans, including 74% of men and 64% of Hispanics, support prosecuting those who disrupt deportation operations with violence, as seen in recent Los Angeles clashes.
Only 21% view such charges as “not important.” Trump’s job approval stands at 43% approve versus 50% disapprove, aligning with April findings, indicating this support transcends his base.
Shift Among Legal Immigrants and Key Demographics
The survey points to a notable political realignment among legal immigrants, a group that shifted dramatically toward Trump in the 2024 election.
CNN’s Harry Enten noted that “no group of voters moved more to the right, from 2020 to 2024, than immigrant voters,” with Trump tying or surpassing Biden among them, a stark contrast to a 22% deficit in 2020.
This group, alongside others, supports Trump’s mass deportation policies by a 60% to 32% margin. Seniors show even stronger approval, with 65% favoring deportations and 41% “strongly” supporting them.
Catholics, a key voting bloc, back the policy 64% to 29%, despite some media narratives highlighting pro-open-border Catholic voices. The Hill reported in November 2024 that Trump’s gains among Latinos and other minority groups bolstered his electoral success, reflecting an embrace of his America First stance among diverse legal residents.
Demand for Lawful, Orderly Immigration
The poll shows a clear public preference for a structured, legal immigration process, rejecting the chaos of unchecked borders. Americans across racial, ethnic, age, and religious lines rally behind Trump’s vision of a secure nation that prioritizes lawful entry.
The 95% reduction in gotaways, alongside a 600% surge in ICE arrests of criminal migrants reported by the House Committee on Homeland Security in February 2025, underscores the administration’s focus on enforcement.
Even those with pro-immigrant views favor a “measured, lawful, and clear” process, per the survey. Trump’s resolve, as expressed in his response to Los Angeles unrest—“These lawless riots only strengthen our resolve,” he stated—resonates with a public demanding order.
The data suggests that Trump’s policies align with both the will of a broad electorate and the practical outcomes of a fortified border.
