The Democrats despise Christians. They show it every single day.
Because a Democrat Mayor has launched a disgusting attack on Christians that will make you sick.
Minneapolis Mayor’s Attack on Christian Prayers Exposes Democrat Hatred For Christians
In a shocking display of anti-Christian sentiment, Democratic Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey scolded any Christian who is offering their “prayers” for the victims of the Annunciation Catholic School shooting on Wednesday. The tragic attack, which claimed the lives of two young children, aged eight and ten, and left 17 others injured, occurred during a Mass service at the school’s church. Yet, instead of uniting in grief and support, Frey chose to attack the very faith of the victims and their families, dismissing the heartfelt prayers of Christians as inadequate.
“Don’t just say this is about thoughts and prayers right now. These kids were literally praying. It was the first week of school, they were in a church,” Frey said during a press conference. “These are kids that should be learning with their friends, they should be playing on the playground, they should be able to go to school or church in piece without the fear or risk of violence and their parents should have the same kind of assurance. These are the sort of basic assurances that every family should have every step of the day no matter where they are in our country.”
His words, delivered with visible anger, seemed to mock the act of prayer itself, as if the faith of the victims—children praying in their church—was somehow irrelevant or insufficient in the face of tragedy. The shooting, described by Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara as a “deliberate act of violence against innocent children and other people worshiping,” was carried out by a gunman in his early 20s who fired through the church windows with a rifle, shotgun, and pistol.
“Our hearts are broken for the families who have lost their children,” O’Hara said. “For these young lives who are now fighting to recover and for our entire community that has been so deeply traumatized by this senseless attack.” Of the 17 injured, 14 are children, with two in critical condition. The shooter took his own life after the attack, leaving a community reeling and searching for answers.
Frey’s dismissal of “thoughts and prayers” is not just a one-off comment but a window into a pattern of hostility from the Democratic Party toward Christians, particularly those who actively practice their faith. The mayor’s remarks come in the context of his own actions that appear to favor other religious communities over Christians.
In April 2023, Frey signed an ordinance making Minneapolis the only major U.S. city to allow mosques to broadcast the Islamic call to prayer five times a day. While this move was celebrated by some as a step toward inclusivity, it stands in stark contrast to Frey’s apparent disdain for Christian expressions of faith, like offering prayers for victims of a horrific shooting in a church.
This incident is emblematic of a growing trend within the Democratic Party, where practicing Christians are increasingly made to feel unwelcome. The party’s leadership often champions progressive ideals that clash with traditional Christian values, from abortion on demand to the redefinition of marriage and gender.
For example, the 2020 Democratic National Convention featured a “Faith Director” who openly criticized traditional Christian beliefs, calling them “archaic” and out of step with modern values. This rhetoric alienates Christians who hold to biblical teachings, painting them as backward or bigoted.
Moreover, Democrats have consistently pushed policies that seem to undermine religious freedom for Christians while promoting accommodations for other groups. In 2021, the Biden administration’s support for the Equality Act raised alarms among Christian communities, as the legislation could force religious institutions to comply with mandates that contradict their beliefs, such as hiring practices or facility usage.
Frey’s comments also reflect a cultural shift within the Democratic Party, where expressions of Christian faith are often met with skepticism or outright derision. The phrase “thoughts and prayers” has become a punching bag for progressive activists, who argue it’s an empty gesture. Yet for millions of Christians, prayer is a profound act of faith, a way to seek comfort and strength in times of crisis. By dismissing it, Frey and others like him trivialize the beliefs of countless Americans, particularly those grieving the loss of children in a sacred space.
In urban centers like Minneapolis, progressive policies dominate, and Christian values are frequently sidelined. For instance, public schools in Democrat-run cities have increasingly removed references to Christianity from curricula while promoting secular or alternative worldviews. This creates a cultural atmosphere where practicing Christians feel their beliefs are not just unwelcome but actively suppressed.
The Annunciation shooting itself shows the vulnerability of Christian communities in a society that seems to devalue their sanctity. The gunman, identified as 23-year-old Robin Westman, targeted a church during a children’s Mass, a place meant to be a sanctuary. His mother reportedly once worked at the school, adding a chilling personal connection to the attack. Yet instead of focusing on the evil of the act or the need to protect sacred spaces, Frey chose to lecture Christians about their response, further alienating a community already in mourning.
During the 2016 election, leaked emails from Hillary Clinton’s campaign revealed staffers mocking conservative Catholics and evangelicals, calling their beliefs “severely backwards.” Such attitudes persist in Democratic circles, where Christians who adhere to traditional teachings are often viewed as obstacles to progress. The party’s embrace of radical social policies, from unrestricted abortion to gender ideology, leaves little room for those who prioritize biblical principles.
Even in local politics, Christians face pressure to conform or stay silent. In Minneapolis, Frey’s loss of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party endorsement to a democratic socialist challenger in 2025 highlights the party’s shift toward more radical elements. These elements often view religious institutions, particularly Christian ones, with suspicion, advocating for policies that erode religious exemptions or tax benefits for churches. For practicing Christians, this signals a clear message: your faith is not welcome here.
The hypocrisy of Frey’s stance is particularly galling. While he dismisses Christian prayers, his administration has gone out of its way to accommodate other religious practices, like the mosque ordinance. This double standard fuels the perception that Democrats prioritize certain groups while marginalizing Christians. It’s a pattern seen nationwide, from school boards banning Christian symbols to governors imposing stricter COVID-19 restrictions on churches than on secular businesses.
For Christians, the Annunciation shooting is a heartbreaking reminder of their vulnerability in a culture that increasingly devalues their faith. The Democratic Party’s rhetoric and policies only deepen this sense of alienation, making it clear that practicing Christians are not just unwelcome but often vilified. Frey’s comments are not an isolated incident but part of an agenda that seeks to silence Christian voices in the public square.
As the nation grapples with yet another senseless act of violence, the focus should be on unity and healing, not division. Christians across America are praying for the families of the Annunciation victims, despite Frey’s admonition. Their faith compels them to do so, and no politician’s scorn can change that.
