The Left lives in fantasy land. Someone has to wake them up.

Now ICE just smacked a major Democrat candidate with a brutal reality check.

ICE Stands Firm Against Political Attacks

Federal immigration enforcement officers perform dangerous, essential work every day to keep Americans safe from violent criminals, traffickers, and other serious threats.

When California gubernatorial candidate Tom Steyer threatened to jail ICE agents and pushed a radical plan to abolish the agency, ICE responded with clarity and resolve.

On X, the agency delivered a sharp six-word rebuke: “Tom Steyer, ICE is not a political football.”

ICE followed up by reminding the public of its core mission: “Our agents and officers are sworn to protect this nation from dangerous criminals ranging from child abusers to cartel members.”

The agency added a direct appeal: “We urge you to join us in protecting Californians from these ongoing threats.”

Defending Law Enforcement from Demonization

Steyer, a progressive billionaire and current Democratic frontrunner for California governor, recently released a manifesto calling for the abolition of ICE.

His plan includes treating the agency like a criminal organization, creating special units to prosecute its leadership, and positioning state government against federal immigration enforcement.

In response to ICE’s statement, Steyer doubled down: “To Californians, you ARE the ongoing threat,” and claimed, “The governor’s most important job is to protect Californians — that includes protecting them from ICE.”

This kind of rhetoric risks undermining the men and women of ICE who face real dangers in the line of duty. Rather than acknowledging the agency’s role in removing child abusers, cartel members, and other public safety threats, Steyer frames dedicated federal officers as the problem.

Prioritizing Public Safety Over Partisan Rhetoric

California already faces well-documented challenges with uncooperative policies toward federal immigration enforcement. ICE agents continue their work despite political headwinds, focusing on serious offenders rather than playing political games.

By threatening to imprison officers simply for doing their jobs, Steyer’s approach distracts from practical solutions and endangers the rule of law. Law enforcement agencies like ICE exist to enforce federal statutes passed by Congress — not to serve as punching bags in election-season manifestos.

Strong, professional immigration enforcement helps protect all communities, including law-abiding immigrants and citizens alike. When politicians treat federal agents as enemies rather than partners in public safety, it weakens America’s ability to secure borders and uphold the law.

ICE’s firm response serves as a necessary reminder that protecting the nation from dangerous criminals should never be reduced to partisan theater.
