As everyone knows, much of the “journalist” class can’t be trusted. But it’s even worse than you previously thought.

And Sean Hannity was hit with startling revelations about the media from a former House Speaker.

Media’s Poll Ploy Of Twisting Truth To Tarnish Trump

The mainstream media has launched a relentless campaign to discredit President Donald Trump, wielding skewed polls as their weapon of choice. Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich, appearing on Hannity last Thursday, called out this tactic, urging Republicans to counter with sharper resolve. He insisted that the media’s narrative, propped up by dubious surveys, is a calculated effort to undermine Trump’s presidency.

Gingrich’s charge comes as outlets like ABC News, CBS News, and CNN churn out polls claiming a steep decline in Trump’s approval ratings as his first 100 days in office approach. These surveys paint a grim picture, suggesting public confidence in Trump has plummeted since his February peak. Yet, Gingrich and others argue these numbers are not just misleading—they’re outright fabrications designed to erode trust in the president.

“I got a little preview about poll numbers that are coming out tomorrow and from both Robert Cahaly and Matt Towery, who I respect a lot, and, as I suspected, all of the polls that the media has been pushing on the American people about Donald Trump are false,” host Sean Hannity revealed during the segment. His skepticism points to a pattern: pollsters who miscalled the 2024 election and consistently underestimated Trump’s support are now doubling down on their flawed methods.

Hannity pressed Gingrich on the media’s selective focus, noting their fixation on Trump’s supposed decline while ignoring the dismal approval ratings of Democrats like Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, who languishes at 17%. “That’s what the early indications are and that all the pollsters that got the election in 24′ wrong and got every election about Donald Trump wrong. All of those people, the ones [that] say, ‘Oh he’s plummeting, but meanwhile they’re ignoring Chuck [Schumer] is at 17% and the Democrats are in the 20’s. I’m trying to understand that logic. Can you help me out?” Hannity asked.

A CBS News poll from February 9 captured Trump at his zenith, with 53% of voters approving of his leadership—his highest mark across both terms. Fast forward to a late April poll, and that figure supposedly dropped to 45%. The media seized on this dip, amplifying it as evidence of Trump’s faltering grip on the presidency. But the numbers, according to critics, don’t add up when scrutinized against voter sentiment and Trump’s tangible policy wins.

An ABC News/Washington Post/Ipsos poll released last Saturday further fueled the narrative, claiming only 39% of 2,464 respondents approved of Trump’s performance—a six-point slide since February. These figures, splashed across headlines, feed a storyline that Trump’s leadership is crumbling. Yet, the methodology behind these polls raises red flags, with sampling biases that underrepresent Trump’s base.

Gingrich didn’t mince words, accusing the media of “plain lying” and orchestrating a “deliberate” and “willful” assault on Trump’s image. “They’re just plain lying, and I think we got to be tougher and clearer about how dishonest these people are. The fact is I talked to John McLaughlin, and I talked to Matt Towery about this. They [the media] have some polls there that are like 27% Republican when Trump got 50% of the vote, so if you add the 23 points they didn’t test then suddenly he’s in great shape,” Gingrich said.

The former speaker framed the media as part of a larger resistance, alongside “fake district judges” and the “fake Congressional Budget Office,” all working in concert to sabotage Trump’s agenda. “This is deliberate. It is willful,” Gingrich added. “Look, there are three great centers of resistance: the propaganda media that will lie all the time, the fake district judges, and the fake Congressional Budget Office. Those are the last three great centers of resistance, and they’re going to do anything they can to defeat Trump and the Republicans, including lying about virtually everything.”

Pollster Matt Towery, in a separate Fox News interview with Laura Ingraham, echoed Gingrich’s doubts, questioning the corporate media’s narrative of a collapsing Trump presidency. He argued that voters haven’t abandoned the president, despite the media’s claims. Towery’s confidence stems from data showing Trump’s policies resonating with the public, even as the press fixates on negative spins.

CBS’s April poll offers a counterpoint to the media’s doom-and-gloom narrative. It found 61% of respondents believe Trump is delivering on his campaign promises, while 64% credit his border policies with curbing illegal migrant crossings. Economic approval sits at 42%, but a striking 56% back Trump’s plan to deport illegal migrants—a policy the media often frames as divisive. These numbers suggest a disconnect between the media’s portrayal and public sentiment.

The media’s poll-driven crusade against Trump reveals a deeper agenda, critics argue—one rooted in distorting reality to weaken a president who challenges their influence. As Gingrich and others call for a fiercer Republican response, the battle over public perception intensifies, with Trump’s supporters rallying against what they see as a rigged narrative.
