The Left are full of hypocrites. It used to be extremely taboo to deny election results.

And now this leading Democrat demands a recount of the 2024 election and Trump is furious.

The Irony of Election Denial in 2024

Rosie O’Donnell sparked a firestorm on social media this week, amplifying calls for a “recount” of President Donald Trump’s sweeping victory over former Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. The comedian reposted a claim from influencer Joe Braxton on her Instagram Story, who alleged that Tesla’s Elon Musk “hacked and stole” the election.

Braxton’s post, brimming with disbelief, declared, “We Demand A Recount!” and insisted that Musk orchestrated a scheme to manipulate the results, later “deleting the evidence and firing the workers that could find out.”

Braxton’s skepticism peaked with his assertion that “There’s seriously no way he won 7 swing states.” Yet, the numbers tell a different story.

Trump’s 2024 triumph was nothing short of historic, clinching not just the Electoral College—decisive in U.S. presidential races—but also the popular vote and every battleground state. This landslide left little room for doubt, yet voices like O’Donnell and Braxton continue to fan the flames of skepticism.

This isn’t O’Donnell’s first foray into questioning Trump’s legitimacy. Last month, she vented frustration in a peculiar tirade, misinterpreting the president’s remarks about elections.

She fumed, “If he admits one more time that the election was rigged… I mean why is he allowed to admit this over and over again, and no one does anything about it? It’s very obvious that it was.”

Here, O’Donnell seems to misread Trump’s frequent references to the 2020 election, not 2024. In a twist of irony, she’s now the one casting doubt on a clear electoral outcome, stepping into the role of election denier.

Beyond election disputes, O’Donnell has leaned into alarmist rhetoric since Trump’s second inauguration. She recently warned that the Republican-backed tax cuts and spending package, dubbed the “Big, Beautiful Bill,” would spell disaster.

“Millions of people are going to go hungry. Millions of people are going to die,” she claimed, painting a dire and exaggerated picture of the legislation’s potential impact.

This shift in tone from O’Donnell and others reflects a curious reversal within Democratic circles. Not long ago, Democrats were vocal critics of election denialism, condemning efforts to question legitimate results as threats to democracy.

When Trump has suggested in the past that he might not accept the election outcome if he lost, prominent Democrats decried his stance as reckless.

Similarly, after the 2020 election, they lambasted claims of widespread fraud as baseless, urging unity behind certified results. Leaders in the Democrat Party emphasized the sanctity of the electoral process, warning that undermining it erodes public trust.

Yet, fast forward to 2024, and the script has flipped. With Trump’s decisive victory, some Democrats—O’Donnell among them—are now echoing the very rhetoric they once opposed.

Social media posts and public statements from party supporters challenge the election’s integrity, citing improbable swing-state sweeps or unproven theories about tech moguls like Musk. This pivot has drawn criticism from those who see it as hypocritical, given Democrats’ past insistence on accepting electoral outcomes.

The change may stem from the sting of an unexpected defeat or distrust in a polarized system, but it risks alienating voters who value consistency. As Democrats navigate this new landscape, they face a challenge: reconciling their current skepticism with their prior calls for unity.

For now, the irony of their role reversal hangs heavy, a reminder that election denialism can cut across party lines when the results don’t align with expectations.
