Donald Trump is moving at a lightning pace. It takes a toll.
And now Trump’s latest test result is raising eyebrows across the country.
A fresh poll reveals strong unity among Republicans behind President Trump’s leadership in the ongoing war with Iran, decisively favoring his approach over criticism from prominent conservative commentators Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly.
Strong GOP Backing for Operation Epic Fury
A new survey from J.L. Partners shows that reports of deep divisions within the Republican Party over the Iran conflict have been overstated.
Among likely Republican voters, 83% support Operation Epic Fury—the U.S. military campaign against Iran—while only 9% oppose military action. Additionally, 74% believe the U.S. should press forward until Iran’s military capabilities are fully dismantled, compared to just 16% who want an immediate halt.
The poll, conducted March 17-18 with 1,018 likely Republican voters and a margin of error of ±3.1 points, underscores broad enthusiasm for continuing the fight.
Trump’s Judgment Prevails Over Media Critics
When pitted directly against Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly—both vocal critics of the Iran war—Trump commands overwhelming trust from his base. 83% of respondents place more confidence in Trump’s judgment, while only 6% side with the former Fox News hosts. Similarly, 84% align with Trump’s foreign policy views over Carlson and Kelly (6%), and 85% say they take the president more seriously on global affairs than media commentators and podcasters (6%).
Trump has largely avoided direct responses to the criticisms but has staunchly defended radio host Mark Levin, a key supporter of the campaign, declaring: “Mark Levin, a truly Great American Patriot, is somewhat under siege by other people with far less Intellect, Capability, and Love for our Country.”
He added: “He is a true Conservative, and Intellect, far smarter than those who criticize him but, above all, he is a man of Great Wisdom and Common Sense who truly loves our Country.” Further: “When you hear others unfairly attack Mark, remember that they are jealous and angry Human Beings, whose ‘sway’ is much less than the Public understands, and will, now that I know where I stand, rapidly diminish.”
And: “Those that speak ill of Mark will quickly fall by the wayside, as do the people whose ideas, policies, and footings are not sound. THEY ARE NOT MAGA, I AM, and MAGA includes not allowing Iran, a Sick, Demented, and Violent Terrorist Regime, to have a Nuclear Weapon to blow up the United States of America, the Middle East and, ultimately, the rest of the World. MAGA is about stopping them cold, and that is exactly what we are doing.”
Electoral Implications and Party Loyalty
The poll also highlights potential midterm consequences, with 78% of Republican voters more inclined to back congressional candidates who endorse Trump’s military actions against Iran, versus just 10% favoring opponents of the war.
If a GOP candidate aligned more closely with the Carlson-Kelly perspective, 55% said they would be less likely to support them, while only 19% would be more likely.
This data suggests that loyalty to Trump’s stance on neutralizing the Iranian threat remains a dominant factor in Republican politics amid the conflict.
