In a refreshing display of common sense from an unlikely source, Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman took aim at the antics from New York City’s far-left leadership.
During an appearance on Fox New’s Sunday Morning Futures, the Democrat pushed back hard against Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s bold declaration that he would arrest Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel.
Fetterman didn’t mince words when describing the mayor’s grandstanding.
He labeled Mamdani a “clown,” highlighting the sheer absurdity of the threat.
The controversy stems from an International Criminal Court warrant targeting Netanyahu.
Yet Fetterman pointed out a key fact that exposes the move as empty posturing.
The United States does not recognize or participate in this court, rendering such threats powerless on American soil.
Host Maria Bartiromo pressed the senator on the deeper implications, noting the rise of extreme elements within the Democratic Party.
“Senator, it complicates things that you have got these very far-left candidates winning and socialists now in leadership positions,” she observed.
“I mean, you have got the mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdani, threatening that he will have Benjamin Netanyahu arrested if he comes to New York for the U.N. General Assembly — UNGA, which is happening in September. What are your thoughts here on Mamdani threatening to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu if he comes to the U.S.?”
Fetterman responded with blunt dismissal.
“Well, it’s such a tough guy to say that kind of thing. He has no way to do that. Of course, obviously, America’s not even part of that corrupt court, and so he’s just a clown to even say that. So he won’t try that. And now just sit down and focus on the problems that they have in New York. That’s really not your purview. You and I know that. Sit down,” he stated.
This exchange reveals much about the current state of American cities under radical governance.
