Obama hasn’t been president for almost a decade. But that could all be changing.

And Barack Obama is eyeing the presidency in a shocking revelation.

Claudine Gay, the now-former president of Harvard University, resigned recently after she was smacked with controversy over claims of plagiarism along with refusing to properly denounce antisemitism on Harvard’s campus during a congressional hearing.

Harvard is now looking for a new president and their search “will include broad engagement and consultation with the Harvard community in the time ahead,” according to the Daily Mail.

The school hasn’t released any sort of list of candidates they are looking at, but there are rumors that former President Barack Obama could be one of the individuals considered.

Before Gay resigned, Obama was reported to have “privately lobbied on Gay’s behalf as she faced pressure to resign in the wake of her disastrous appearance before the congressional hearing on antisemitism,” according to The Jewish Insider.

Obama is a 1991 graduate of the Harvard Law School, where he was also president of the Law Review.

His efforts to keep Gay as president obviously did not work as she recently delivered her resignation letter.

“It is with a heavy heart but a deep love for Harvard that I write to share that I will be stepping down as president. This is not a decision I came to easily,” Gay’s letter said.

“Indeed, it has been difficult beyond words because I have looked forward to working with so many of you to advance the commitment to academic excellence that has propelled this great university across centuries.”

“After consultation with members of the Corporation, it has become clear that it is the best interests of Harvard for me to resign so that our community can navigate this moment of extraordinary challenge with a focus on the institution rather than any individual.”

As for Obama taking over Gay’s role as president, Robert Putnam, professor emeritus of public policy at Harvard, has his doubts.

While interviewing with the Boston Globe, Putnam doesn’t believe Obama would accept the job if it were given to him.

But he did explain that it would be “highly desirable” for “a person of color, or a woman, or even better, both,” to become Harvard’s next president.

It’s hard to imagine Barack Obama not wanting to accept a role that gives him more power.

But let’s be honest, the presidency at Harvard is not big enough for him.

It wouldn’t afford him the opportunity to implement his radical Leftist policies on the entire country.

He’d rather achieve a more elevated position in Washington, D.C. as a high-ranking politician.

It’s been rumored in the past that he might run for political office again. Let’s hope those rumors aren’t true.
