Politics are anything but predictable these days. That’s especially true of the 2024 election.

And this latest election surprise threw both Democrats and Republicans a major curveball.

Last Friday, the political centrist group No labels announced that it would find candidates who would run against President Biden and former President Donald Trump in the general election.

No Labels had previously said that they would not push a candidate forward if they didn’t think they would win the presidency.

But now they feel like they have a real shot at the Oval Office.

“Earlier today, I led a discussion with the 800 No Labels delegates from all 50 states. These citizen leaders have spent months discussing with one another the kind of leadership they want to see in the White House in 2024 … I wasn’t sure exactly where No Labels delegates would land today but they sent an unequivocal message: Keep going,” Mike Rawlings, the chairman for the No Labels national convention said.

“They voted near unanimously to continue our 2024 project and to move immediately to identify candidates to serve on the Unity presidential ticket.”

“Now that No Labels has received the go-ahead from our delegates, we’ll be accelerating our candidate outreach and announcing the process for how candidates will be selected for the Unity Ticket on Thursday, March 14.”

The centrist group has been making efforts to try and appear on the ballot in every state in America.

They’ve also considered former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie as possible candidates.

Haley has previously noted that she will not be running as a third-party candidate, however.

Former 2024 Democrat presidential candidate and U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips (MN) also said that he would not run as a candidate for No Labels.

And despite plenty of speculation, Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) has also announced that he won’t be running with the third-party group.

But even though they don’t have a candidate set to run for them, No Labels believes in their mission to provide Americans with another choice besides Trump or Biden.

“In poll after poll, two-thirds of American voters are unhappy with the choices they are likely to have in the 2024 presidential election. No Labels is working to give the American voters a better choice should they want it,” their website states.

They also explain how this election season is “unlike any other time in modern U.S. political history.”

Green Party candidate Jill Stein and independents Cornel West and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. are all third-party candidates who are contending for the presidency with Biden and Trump.

But when it comes down to polling, it’s obvious that the real battle will be between the current president and the former one.

And if anything, a third-party run would end up taking away votes form Joe Biden and hurt his chances of winning reelection based off numerous polls.
