Our nation’s Border Patrol should be defending us from outside invaders. But the D.C. Swamp rot has spread to them.

And now Border Patrol was rattled by a devastating betrayal from within.

No one is surprised by the White House or the DNC pushing open border policies.

But up until now, Americans thought they could trust the U.S. Border Patrol to at least disagree with Biden’s commands.

Unfortunately, it looks like times are changing.

The deep state gets deeper and America’s enemies fight from within evermore.

A Border Patrol agent was captured attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border with an illegal immigrant in his truck.

Carlos Ivan Vargas was apprehended on March 7 when entering the nation at the San Ysidro border crossing.

A Customs and Border Protection officer noticed that his Toyota Prius was riding low in the back, and the privacy screen in the trunk looked to be bulging.

When the officer asked to open the trunk, he found an illegal immigrant.

According to court filings, Mr. Vargas works as a communications supervisor for the Border Patrol at its Chula Visa Station.

CBP, which administers both the Border Patrol and the ports of entry, declined to reveal whether he is still employed or receiving a salary, but insisted on treating the situation seriously.

“We do not tolerate misconduct within our ranks,” the agency stated.

“When we discover any alleged or potential misconduct, we immediately refer it for investigation and cooperate fully with any criminal or administrative investigations. This is the case whether the alleged misconduct occurs on or off duty. Federal privacy laws prohibit discussion of individual cases.”

Mr. Vargas told detectives he lives in Mexico with his girlfriend and commutes to the United States for his employment.

He denied smuggling an illegal immigrant, but said he believed he was sneaking money in. He said he was carrying $1,500 and anticipated to receive $250.

The migrant, described in court filings as Mexican citizen Dagoberto Carrillo Rodriguez, claimed he paid $15,000 to be brought in.

He went from Nayarit, Mexico, to Tijuana, where he met with a smuggler known as El Compita. Mr. Rodriguez stated that he was heading to Los Angeles.
