The vice president continues to embarrass herself. She has a real gift for it at this point.

And Kamala Harris was just caught on camera doing this one humiliating thing.

On a two-day bus tour through rural Georgia, Vice President Kamala Harris, joined by running mate Governor Tim Walz (D-MN), made a stop at Liberty County High School to meet with a marching band and share her thoughts on leadership and teamwork. While Leftists applauded her approach, others criticized her unscripted remarks, calling them “painful to watch.”

Governor Walz, a former high school teacher and coach, kicked off the visit on Wednesday by addressing the students. He emphasized the importance of education and told the teens they represented the future. He then introduced Harris as “a really great head coach” and predicted that she would be “the next president of the United States.”

Harris, speaking with her usual animated hand gestures, attempted to inspire the young students. But instead, she concocted up one of her famous word salads. “We wanted to come by to let you know that our country is counting on all of you. You are leaders by the very fact that you all are here in this room,” Harris said.

Her word salad was punctuated with more gestures as she continued, speaking in incomplete phrases. “Doing what you do at this incredible school. Doing it as one big team. Understanding all the different parts that fit together to create a team,” she explained.

“You are doing some of the best work any of you can do, and we’re so proud of you. And we’re counting on you,” she added.

The vice president then delved deeper into her thoughts on leadership, directing her words toward the next generation.

“Your generation, all that you guys stand for, everything you have at stake, is what is going to propel our country into the next era of what we can do,” she remarked.

In an effort to try and inspire, Harris encouraged the students to embrace their roles as leaders. “And I want to say to you that you must always lead as you have chosen to lead. Understand that you don’t have to ask anybody’s permission. And I think you all can figure that out. You’ve decided to be a leader. And in doing that, you are also role models, right? Welcome to the role model club,” she said, before highlighting the influence they have on those around them.

“Being a role model, right, means that there are members of your family, live in your neighborhood, your classmates, who watch you and see that’s how it’s done,” Harris told the students.

“You are showing what hard work can achieve, what discipline can do, what teamwork can do, and that’s the stuff of great leadership. All of you,” she said, while praising the students for their achievements.

She closed by reiterating how proud she and Walz were of their dedication, saying, “We wanted to come by to remind you that our nation is counting on you. We’re so proud of you and everything you have achieved.”

Harris also reminisced about her own high school years, mentioning her time in a band and acknowledging the significant amount of practice and rehearsal involved.

Harris’s Awkward Speech Met With Criticism

While some, like MSNBC anchor Jen Psaki, lauded Harris’s speech for its “authenticity,” particularly in such a local setting, not everyone shared the same view. Psaki noted that events like this one have a personal touch, appealing to families with children in similar activities. “But I love these local stops, too, because it does show you the authenticity,” Psaki said, comparing it to other campaign events.

However, Harris’s speech drew sharp criticism online. Some social media users likened her delivery to speaking to young children, rather than teenagers. “Kamala Harris goes full kindergarten teacher mode while explaining what ‘teamwork’ means to a group of high schoolers. Painful to watch,” commented Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk on X.

Another person took a swipe at her speaking style, calling it “another Kamala word salad” and describing her remarks on leadership as a “whole bunch of circular nothing.”

Criticism continued as one user joked, “Kamala explains the concept of how teams work together to a high school band as if they are 5 years old. It’s a real mystery why her handlers never let her speak without a script.”

It’s no wonder Kamala Harris’s team is having her avoid hard-pressing interviews. She clearly can’t speak off script without forming one giant word salad.
