Biden has been a lame duck for a while. But he’s going down swinging.
Because Joe Biden just made an unexpected move right before Trump takes office.
Biden Approves Long-Range Missiles for Ukraine to Strike Inside Russia
President Joe Biden has authorized the use of U.S.-supplied long-range missiles to help Ukraine target Russian territory, marking a significant shift in U.S. policy. This decision, which came on Sunday, allows Ukraine to use the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) for strikes within Russia, a step that had been under consideration for months.
Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the United States has committed billions in military aid to Ukraine, aiming to bolster the country’s defense against Russian aggression. Early in the war, Biden’s administration provided a range of military assistance, but as the conflict stretched on, there were increasing discussions about the need for more advanced weaponry. In February 2024, U.S. officials began seriously considering supplying Ukraine with the longer-range ATACMS missiles, which could help Kyiv target Russian-occupied territories beyond the front lines.
However, as the Republican-majority Congress grew more resistant to further military funding for Ukraine, the Biden administration faced challenges in sustaining its support. By September, with funding becoming uncertain, officials revisited their strategy, which included relaxing some restrictions on weapon use and allowing Ukraine to strike deeper inside Russian territory. This move represented a significant change from the U.S. position earlier in the conflict, when Biden had opposed providing Ukraine with long-range missiles capable of hitting Russian soil.
President Trump won a clear mandate to end the war in Ukraine. So what does Biden do in his final two months in office? Massively escalate it. Is his goal to hand Trump the worst situation possible? pic.twitter.com/T247E88xCX

The decision to authorize these strikes came amid shifting dynamics on the battlefield. In October, reports indicated that North Korea had sent approximately 10,000 troops to the Kursk region of western Russia to assist Russian forces in attempting to reclaim territory previously captured by Ukraine. This development further prompted U.S. officials to reassess their policy, as the presence of North Korean troops in the region raised concerns about escalating foreign involvement in the conflict.
A U.S. official confirmed to The Washington Post that the authorization of long-range missile strikes was partly intended as a warning to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. The U.S. hoped that by approving the strikes, it could deter further North Korean involvement, signaling that their initial military support for Russia would come at a “costly” price.
This decision comes at a pivotal moment in international relations, as the U.S. prepares for the 2024 presidential transition. Former President Donald Trump, who won the Republican nomination for the 2024 election, has campaigned on a platform focused on reducing U.S. involvement in foreign conflicts.
Just days before Biden’s missile decision, Trump had reportedly spoken with Russian President Vladimir Putin, cautioning him not to escalate the war in Ukraine and reminding him of the U.S. military presence in Europe, according to The Washington Post.
Biden’s approval of long-range missile strikes in Ukraine reflects the increasingly complex and global nature of the conflict, as well as the growing concerns over foreign military involvement in the war. As Ukraine continues to defend itself against Russian aggression, the U.S. faces the delicate balance of supporting its ally while navigating the shifting political landscape at home and abroad.
Donald Trump has made ending the war in Ukraine a top foreign policy concern for his second administration that is incoming in January. He’s regularly said for two years now that if he was President rather than Joe Biden, Russia never would have invaded Ukraine as they did in 2022.
Mr. 45 and soon to be Mr. 47 has said that these proxy wars are not actually about “freedom fights” at all and are a dangerous waste of American resources which could be better well spent here in the United States.
Donald Trump has gone so far as to say that Russia is not as big of a threat to the sovereignty of the United States as the deep state bureaucrats who are eating the United States from the inside, calling them “dangerous” globalists who are creating “havoc” in the United States.
It's crazy that as Biden is escalating the war in Ukraine, Trump is trying to bring the war to an end… yet the left still thinks Trump is a warmonger.
