Joe Biden’s presidency can’t come to an end quick enough. His corrupt administration has done nothing but damage the country.
And this bombshell report has exposed the Biden DOJ for a scandal that cost millions.
DOJ Allocates Over $100 Million to Restorative Justice and DEI Programs in Schools, Report Finds
Over the last four years, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has directed more than $100 million toward education programs centered on restorative justice, social-emotional learning, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). A new report from Parents Defending Education (PDE) sheds light on how these funds were distributed and the priorities driving the spending.
PDE, a group that advocates for reclaiming “our schools from activists imposing harmful agendas,” released its findings on Thursday, detailing $100,113,942 in DOJ grants awarded to more than 900 school districts across 36 states between 2021 and 2024.
The report outlines the specific categories of spending: $45.2 million went to projects focusing on restorative practices and social-emotional learning, $32 million to initiatives addressing DEI or improving outcomes for specific demographic groups, and nearly $20 million for consultant certifications promoting ideas such as critical race theory, critical gender theory, and qu**r theory.
An additional $10.3 million was allocated to hire administrators like “restorative justice facilitators,” with notable examples of funding including $2 million to the Minnesota Department of Education for embedding anti-racism and anti-oppression practices in schools.
Another $1 million was granted to Ocean County, New Jersey, to address violence by categorizing behaviors like teasing as forms of oppression.
The DOJ’s STOP School Violence Program, which aims to create safer school environments, was also highlighted in the report. PDE raised concerns about the program’s approach, suggesting it shifts the focus from traditional discipline to social-emotional learning methods.
“More often than not, when schools mention ‘improving school climate’ they mean replacing exclusionary discipline with restorative practices and social-emotional learning,” the report stated.
PDE explained that traditional exclusionary discipline removes disruptive students, allowing others to continue learning uninterrupted.
In contrast, restorative practices bring together offenders and victims for discussions aimed at repairing harm, which the group argued disrupts learning for more students.
PDE cautioned that the $100 million figure might understate the full scope of DOJ spending, as their analysis only includes accessible data and counts some districts with multiple grants just once. The real total “is likely much higher,” the organization noted.
Nicole Neily, founder and president of PDE, criticized the federal government’s choices in allocating the funds.
“Although the Biden Administration claimed they cared about ‘student safety,’ these grants highlight that at the end of the day, federal bureaucrats made a deliberate choice to prioritize ideology and pet projects over protecting American schoolchildren, using the tax dollars of hardworking citizens,” she said to Fox News Digital.
The DOJ has not yet responded to requests for comment from Fox News Digital.
This report follows a similar analysis from PDE last month, which found that the Department of Education had spent over $1 billion since 2021 on DEI initiatives in hiring, programming, and mental health training.
That breakdown included $489.8 million for race-based hiring, $343.3 million for general DEI programming, and $169.3 million for DEI-focused mental health programs, totaling more than $1 billion.
