Democrats have become an utter laughing stock. They’re almost always humiliating themselves.
And this Leftist congresswoman went on a racist tirade during a wild interview on CNN.
Jasmine Crockett’s Controversial CNN Appearance Sparks Backlash
During a recent appearance on CNN’s Laura Coates Live, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) ignited controversy with inflammatory remarks about race, “white tears,” and sweeping accusations against political figures. Her statements quickly gained traction, sparking debates and criticism across social media, particularly on X.
The conversation initially centered around Elon Musk, with Crockett unleashing a tirade against the billionaire before the topic shifted to Darren Beattie, an acting undersecretary at the State Department facing scrutiny over his social media activity. However, rather than allowing Coates to provide necessary background, Crockett launched into an impassioned rant against President Donald Trump, branding him “a white supremacist” and making statements about “the white boys” and “the white tears.”
“We right now have a white supremacist that is sitting in the White House. He is backed up by other white supremacists. And if you really want to know who the criminals are in this country, you can Google it,” Crockett declared. She then proceeded to cite questionable crime statistics, claiming, “The people that commit 80 percent of the most violent crimes in this country are white supremacists.”
However, FBI crime data from 2019 contradicts this assertion, showing that “Black or African American” offenders accounted for 51.2 percent of arrests for “M*rder and nonnegligent mansl*ughter.”
Coates stepped in to correct at least one part of Crockett’s rhetoric, noting, “President Trump, of course, has denied any allegations of the white supremacists.” She later questioned whether Trump’s previous firing of Beattie changed Crockett’s stance.
“I don’t care what he says. I don’t care what he says,” Crockett responded, doubling down on her perspective. She dismissed the significance of Beattie’s dismissal, insisting that “the coddling is for the white boys” and adding, “I am tired of the white tears. Listen, if you are competent, you are not concerned.”
As the discussion progressed, Crockett’s rhetoric escalated. She took aim at female colleagues on Capitol Hill, despite them not being part of the conversation, claiming she had to work “10 times as hard” as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) to earn her congressional seat.
From there, she continued her tirade against “white boys,” arguing, “the only people that are crying are the mediocre white boys that have been beaten out by people that historically have had to work so much harder.” She also wove in claims about race and education, stating, “This is why they don’t want us to have education. This is why they are trying to literally say we won’t fund the [historically black colleges and universities], because they know that if they’ve already gone after affirmative action and they’re saying, you know what, don’t allow them to come in to say these [predominantly white institutions], as we call them, don’t allow them to come into these institutions.”
Her assertions during her rant were misleading. In reality, Trump restored funding to historically black colleges (HBCUs) during his first term, and the 2023 Supreme Court decision dismantling affirmative action, Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard, was rooted in constitutional arguments about the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment rather than racial animus.
Crockett continued, asserting, “We know why they created the HBCUs in the first place. It was because they wouldn’t allow us into the white institutions. And so now they’re not allowing us in. And now they’re saying, you know what, we’re also going to defund the HBCUs. You know why? Because they don’t want any more Kamala Harrises. They don’t want any more Jasmine Crocketts.”
The congresswoman’s final remarks veered into outright falsehoods, as she turned her ire toward Trump’s ancestry. “Because the last time I checked, the Native Americans who summer ICE have been rounding up or the Puerto Ricans who are absolutely Americans, listen, the only people that came and colonized this place are your ancestors, Trump.”
Trump’s ancestry tells a different story. His grandfather immigrated from Germany in 1885, and his mother came to the U.S. from Scotland in 1929 — long after the era of colonization she referenced.
Crockett has been making headlines for similarly controversial remarks on other networks. During an MSNBC interview with Alex Witt, she called Trump “a thug.” “Let me tell you: We have a thug in charge of the United States. And if we don’t wake up, we may not have a United States, because right now he has only been successful in being a divider in chief,” she warned.
While her rhetoric may resonate with the deep blue voters of her district—where she won reelection with a staggering 84.9 percent of the vote—her approach does little to help a Democratic Party already struggling in public opinion. A recent Quinnipiac University poll reported a 57-31 percent unfavorable rating for the party, highlighting the challenges ahead. If Democrats want to turn their fortunes around, they may want to reconsider the effectiveness of this brand of divisive politics.
