Biden’s revealing everything. He has nothing to lose now.
And Joe Biden has made a massive confession about the 2024 election in a shocking tell-all.
Biden Reflects on His 2024 Exit
In a candid interview with the BBC, recorded in Wilmington, Delaware, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe, former President Joe Biden opened up about his last-minute decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race.
Speaking to BBC Radio 4’s Today program, the 82-year-old former leader said he didn’t “think it would have mattered” if he had stepped aside earlier, reflecting on the election that saw Vice President Kamala Harris take on Donald Trump.
Biden’s exit on July 21, 2024, came after a rocky debate performance on June 27 sparked a wave of concern within the Democratic Party. The decision left Harris with just 106 days to build her campaign, which ultimately fell short against Trump. Despite raising an impressive $1 billion in six weeks, Harris became the first Democratic presidential candidate in two decades to lose both the popular vote and the Electoral College.
“We left at a time when we had a good candidate,” Biden told the BBC. “She was fully funded, and what happened was, what we had set out to do, no one thought we could do. We had become so successful in our agenda, it was hard to say, ‘I’m gonna stop now.’”
Reflecting on his 2020 victory over Trump, Biden reiterated his original plan to serve as a bridge to the next generation. “I meant what I said when I started, that I’m preparing to hand this to the next generation … but things moved so quickly, and it made it difficult to walk away,” he explained.
In a separate interview with USA Today before leaving office, Biden expressed confidence that he could have defeated Trump again, despite polls suggesting a tough road ahead, though he acknowledged uncertainty about enduring another term.
The former president also turned his attention to global concerns, particularly Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, now in its 38th month. Without naming Trump, Biden criticized the current administration’s approach, calling it “modern-day appeasement” of Vladimir Putin.
He pointed to Putin’s claims over Ukraine, rooted in a belief that it belongs to “Mother Russia.” “Listen to what Putin said when he talked about going from Kyiv into Ukraine, and why,” Biden urged.
“He believes it’s part of Mother Russia. He believes [he has] a historical right to Ukraine. He can’t stand the fact that the Russian dictatorship that he runs, that the Soviet Union has collapsed. And anybody that thinks he’s gonna stop is just foolish.”
Biden expressed alarm at suggestions that Ukraine might have to cede Crimea, annexed by Russia in 2014, as part of a peace deal—a move Kyiv considers non-negotiable.
“I just don’t understand,” he said, “how people think that if we allow a dictator, a thug, to decide he’s going to take significant portions of land that aren’t his, that that’s going to satisfy him. I don’t quite understand.”
He voiced concern about the current U.S. administration’s stance, warning that a lack of commitment could erode Europe’s trust in American leadership. “You’ve got a guy who wants to walk away from it all,” Biden said.
“I’m worried that Europe is going to lose confidence in the certainty of America and the leadership of America in the world, to deal with not only NATO, but other matters of consequence.”
He defended his own administration’s support for Ukraine, stating, “we gave them everything they needed to provide for their independence, and we were prepared to respond, more aggressively, if Putin moved again.”
Biden also took aim at Trump’s recent rhetoric, which has included musings about annexing Canada, Greenland, and the Panama Canal. “What the hell’s going on here? What president ever talks like that? That’s not who we are,” he said, emphasizing values of “freedom, democracy, opportunity, not about confiscation.”
Former President Biden can criticize the current Trump administration all he wants, but the facts are that he was one of the main individuals responsible for why the Democrat Party has erupted into such chaos over the past year.
