Trump and Ocasio-Cortez are bitter rivals. That shouldn’t surprise anyone.
But AOC is speechless after she heard what President Trump said about her.
In a recent TV appearance, President Trump didn’t hold back when it came to sizing up Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the radical Democrat from New York. While he acknowledged a spark in her personality, he made it crystal clear that her extreme views are a disaster waiting to happen for America.
Trump appeared on the first episode of Fox News’ The Sunday Briefing, where he was pushed to say something positive about the member of the so-called “Squad.” True to form, he delivered a compliment wrapped in criticism.
“Her philosophy’s so bad; she’s got a little spunk. She’s got a little something that’s good,” Trump said, keeping it real about what he sees in her.
He didn’t stop there, recalling her shocking upset victory back in 2018. Trump pointed out how he had warned the establishment Democrat she defeated.
“[Former Rep.] Joe Crowley, she ran against him, and I said, ‘You know, Joe, you’re going to lose this thing unless you go out and campaign,” Trump added. “She’s got a little something but her philosophy is bad for the country.”
With rumors swirling about Ocasio-Cortez plotting a big move in 2028, like a White House bid or a Senate run, Trump poured cold water on the idea. He dismissed her chances outright.
“I don’t think her philosophy can come close to winning,” he stated, highlighting why her socialist agenda won’t fly with everyday Americans.
Ocasio-Cortez burst onto the scene during the Democrats’ 2018 midterm surge, pulling off a stunning primary win against Crowley, who was a top dog in the House Democratic leadership at the time. Her district covers parts of the Bronx and Queens.
Before entering politics, she was slinging drinks as a bartender in the neighborhood, a detail that her fans love to hype as proof she’s in touch with the working class. But critics see it as a sign of inexperience in handling real-world issues.
Even former Vice President Kamala Harris gave her a shoutout in her new book, 107 Days. Harris gushed about Ocasio-Cortez’s energy and appeal.
Harris praised Ocasio-Cortez for having a “joyful-warrior vibe” and relating to voters who are working-class, painting her as some kind of hero for the left.
Interestingly, in the same memoir, Harris admitted that Trump comes across as nice face-to-face, even after their heated election battles. Co-host Peter Doocy brought that up during the interview.
Trump claimed he doesn’t remember crossing paths with Ocasio-Cortez, but he insisted he’d treat her with respect if they did meet. “I’d be nice to AOC too,” he said.
Reflecting on his landslide victory over Harris, Trump added, “I thought Kamala would’ve done a better job than she did in terms of running, because we really won by a lot. But I was very nice.” He doubled down on his personality, saying, “I don’t think I’ve ever met AOC, but I would be nice to her also. I’m basically a nice person. People just don’t know that.” It’s a side of Trump that the mainstream media loves to ignore.
Despite this olive branch, the bad blood between them runs deep. Ocasio-Cortez has hurled vicious attacks at Trump over the years, especially after the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, where a bullet nearly ended his life.
Just a day after that horrific event, she essentially branded him a fascist, ramping up the rhetoric that divides the nation. She’s also thrown around labels like racist and xenophobe without hesitation. In July, she went even further, calling him a “r*pist,” showing the kind of nasty politics the left plays while preaching unity.
Trump hasn’t been shy about firing back, questioning her smarts and labeling her as “one of the ‘dumbest’ people in Congress” and straight-up “stupid.” Now, with eyes on 2028, Ocasio-Cortez is reportedly mulling a presidential run or a challenge for a Senate seat. That could mean going head-to-head with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer if he seeks another term.
Such a matchup would expose the cracks in the Democratic Party, pitting the old guard against the radical progressives who want to push America toward socialism. Trump’s comments serve as a warning to conservatives: Don’t underestimate her energy, but fight hard against her destructive policies that threaten the economy and freedoms.
