Senator Schumer needs to sit down and be quiet. He’s just embarrassing himself now.

And Chuck Schumer was put on blast by the White House for one moronic comment.

Schumer’s Late-Night FCC Threat Over Trump’s Edited Interview

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) floated the idea on Sunday night of lodging a Federal Communications Commission complaint, targeting the time-edited version of President Donald Trump’s 60 Minutes sit-down with Norah O’Donnell.

Drawing a parallel to Trump’s recent lawsuit against CBS over a 60 Minutes segment featuring former Vice President Kamala Harris—filed mere days before the 2024 election—Schumer indicated he could repurpose the legal language verbatim.

“Maybe I should file a complaint with the FCC against the Trump White House for editing his unhinged 60 Minutes interview. It will use the exact same language Trump lodged against Vice President Harris,” Schumer posted via X.

Trump’s Team Fires Back on Editing Differences

The president’s rapid-response unit swiftly rejected Schumer’s comparison, insisting the two edits were fundamentally dissimilar.

“They deceptively edited Kamala’s answers to make her look somewhat coherent ahead of an election, you moron — then wouldn’t release the transcript/unedited interview. That’s not the same as editing for time constraints (AND the transcript/unedited interview were both released),” their response read.

Critics, including the rapid-response account, highlighted how CBS had trimmed the Harris interview to reduce apparent incoherence—while delaying the full transcript and raw footage. By contrast, Trump’s complete interview and transcript were released on air date.

GOP Leaders Tie Complaint to Government Shutdown Stalemate

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr turned Schumer’s proposal against him, noting that the ongoing Democratic-backed government shutdown would block any filing.

“Due to the Schumer Shutdown, even your frivolous filing could not be processed by the FCC. But seriously, you should end the Schumer Shutdown-which is imposing real pain on American families-rather than nonsense posting. You should open the government, rather than using Americans’ pain to pander to your far left flank,” Carr posted.

“Maybe you should stop posting nonsense at 1:19AM in the morning and open the government,” Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA) added.

Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) said, “Why don’t you open the Government, quit trying to starve poor folks and help us fix the broken healthcare system you helped create.”
