Trump’s successor could be one of his rivals. This would be a disaster for the MAGA movement.

And an anti-Trump Republican dropped a bombshell about a potential presidential campaign.

Rep. Thomas Massie, the Kentucky Republican known for his steadfast independence, stirred fresh speculation Sunday on NBC’s Meet the Press.

Supporters have clearly caught the scent of something bigger after his recent speech, with chants of “president, president” ringing out.

Host Kristen Welker pressed him directly on whether he’s considering a White House bid in 2028.

Massie kept his options wide open, refusing to close any doors while making it clear he’s in no rush to decide.

“I will not rule out anything. And right now, I’m not going to rule in anything. Look, I’ve spent the last five days on my farm with my grandkids and my cattle and my peach trees, and it’s a pretty nice life. I don’t know if I want to screw that up again. I’ve been in Congress for 14 years, fighting,” he stated.

“Every hour that passes, I get decompressed a little bit more. It’s like coming up from the bottom of the ocean, and I’ll take some time and decide what’s next. But I think I will stay engaged in some way or shape.”

“Maybe it’s from the outside. I’ve been exposing what’s going on in Washington, D.C. for years, and I’ll keep doing it.”

Yet the fire hasn’t gone out. Massie made clear he intends to remain a force against the status quo, whether that means staying vocal from outside the halls of power or stepping back into the arena.

His track record of calling out big spending and insider games has earned him a loyal following that sees him as one of the few willing to put up real resistance.

Welker followed up by asking if any future run would stay within Republican ranks. Massie again declined to limit his path forward.

“I won’t rule anything out. I won’t rule out a run for county commissioner. I used to be the county judge executive here. That was probably the best job I ever had in politics,” Massie responded.

“I would encourage people watching this show to act locally and to run for local offices. We can make a difference. There are 3,000 counties in this country running for one of those offices. We can make a difference. We got to change it at the grassroots first.”
