And Kamala Harris has suffered a massive election loss before the votes are even counted.

Green Party’s Jill Stein Surges Ahead of Vice President Harris in Poll Among American Muslim Voters

Just before the 2024 presidential election, Green Party candidate Jill Stein has taken a surprising lead over Vice President Kamala Harris among American Muslims, according to a new poll from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

The survey shows Stein with 42.3% support from Muslim voters, slightly ahead of Harris, who holds 41%.

Former President Donald Trump trails significantly in this demographic, with just 9.8% of support.

CAIR estimates that there are around 2.5 million Muslim voters in the United States — a group whose preference could play a decisive role in the election outcome.

Should the poll results hold, Vice President Harris could face a challenging path to the White House, particularly in critical swing states like Michigan, home to over 240,000 Muslims.

This group’s impact is highlighted by some of its prominent leaders, including Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who has chosen not to endorse Harris’ campaign.

“These findings are definitely concerning for Harris, given how close the race is in this state. If Harris is able to have an advantage in this state similar to Biden’s margin in 2020 (150k votes), she can still hold on, but if she underperforms with Black voters, as the polling suggests, losing these voters could be decisive,” said Carly Cooperman, a pollster interviewed by the New York Post.

Additionally, the poll revealed that 5.6% of Muslim voters intend to abstain from voting altogether, while Chase Oliver of the Libertarian Party and Cornel West of the Justice for All Party each received less than 1% support.

Conducted on Oct. 30–31, the survey included 1,449 verified Muslim voters from across the nation.

CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad commented on the results, stating, “This final national poll of American Muslim voters confirms that our community members are deeply engaged in the 2024 election, with 95 percent saying they plan to turn out to vote.”

Stein’s message, particularly her opposition to Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza and her support for Hamas, seems to resonate strongly with her supporters.

A separate survey by Cygnal, taken shortly after the Oct. 7 massacre, indicated that 57% of American Muslims believe Hamas “was justified in attacking Israel as part of their struggle for a Palestinian state.”

Awad — who has faced criticism over his controversial remarks about Hamas — recently commented on how the conflict in Gaza continues to shape Muslim voter preferences.

CAIR, though influential, has faced scrutiny in the past, once being listed as an un-indicted co-conspirator in an illegal fundraising case involving Hamas.

Nevertheless, the organization’s latest poll could be a key indicator of American Muslims’ potential influence in the upcoming election.

It could very well signal a disappointing finish for Kamala Harris in Michigan if she isn’t able to get enough support from Muslim voters.
