All of Washington, D.C. is in shambles. They are terrified of the incoming Trump administration.
And now an FBI agent has shot Donald Trump an absolutely insane warning.
Most of the picks that Donald Trump has made so far for cabinet positions and executive posts have been ones that terrify the political establishment and the bureaucrat class. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for the head of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Tulsi Gabbard for the Director of National Intelligence, Tom Homan as border czar, the list goes on and on.
Most recently, Donald Trump announced that he would be tapping Kash Patel, a former public defender and Chief of Staff for the Secretary of Defense during Donald Trump’s first term, to head up the Federal Bureau of Investigation. This has, predictably, caused the Washington, D.C. cronies and their many arms throughout the DC, Maryland, and Virginia regions to lose their minds.
Former FBI deputy, Andrew McCabe, appearing on CNN, called the nomination a “terrible development” for both the FBI and the nation, citing Patel’s lack of qualifications for the role. He argued that Patel’s appointment could be a step towards using the FBI as a tool for political purposes, echoing concerns about past abuses of power, particularly under J. Edgar Hoover’s leadership. “The nomination of Kash Patel as FBI Director can only possibly be a plan to disrupt, to dismantle, to distract the FBI,” McCabe stated.
“It’s a terrible development for the men and women of the FBI and also for the nation that depends on a highly functioning, professional, independent Federal Bureau of Investigation,” McCabe went on to add regarding the Patel nomination to head up the FBI.
However, this criticism misses a crucial point. Trump’s selection of Patel is a deliberate effort to break free from the bureaucratic inertia that has defined the FBI in recent years. Instead of maintaining the status quo, Trump is choosing someone who has actively challenged the FBI’s role in American politics.
Patel, a former chief of staff to the Secretary of Defense, has spent his career exposing corruption, defending justice, and protecting American interests. His nomination is a sign that Trump intends to push back against what he sees as an agency with a history of overreach and bias.
Patel’s criticism of the FBI’s role during the 2016 election, particularly regarding the investigation into alleged Russian interference, is a cornerstone of his worldview. He has long opposed the weaponization of the surveillance state, and his past statements reflect a commitment to reining in the agency’s power.
In a recent podcast appearance, Patel suggested that, if appointed, he would “shut down the FBI Hoover Building on day one and reopen it the next day as a museum of the deep state.” This bold declaration further signals Patel’s desire to dismantle the entrenched power structures within the FBI, which he believes have strayed far from their original purpose.
In fact, Patel’s appointment could be seen as a response to growing public dissatisfaction with the FBI. According to a 2023 NBC News poll, only 37% of registered voters have a positive view of the agency, a significant decline from 52% in 2018. The same poll found that 35% of Americans hold a negative view of the FBI, reflecting a broader sentiment that the agency is not as trustworthy or impartial as it once was.
Trump’s nomination of Kash Patel is a clear message that he is not interested in maintaining the FBI as it stands today. Whether one agrees with his tactics or not, the choice to appoint an outsider who challenges the agency’s current trajectory is a move aimed at transforming a key institution within the federal government. In a time of increasing political polarization and distrust of government agencies, Trump’s approach may resonate with many Americans who are eager for change and frustrated by the status quo.
Donald Trump’s decision to nominate Kash Patel as FBI Director represents a strategic move to shake up an agency long seen as entrenched in the political establishment. By selecting Patel, an outsider with a history of challenging the status quo, Trump signals his intention to disrupt and transform the FBI during his second term. While critics like former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe have strongly condemned the move, calling Patel “profoundly unqualified,” Trump’s choice proves he has a real vision for the future of the agency.
Kash Patel has prosecuted more cases than Harris ever did. If she was qualified to be president, he’s qualified to be FBI director.
