Donald Trump may have won in resounding fashion. But the real work is about to begin.

That’s why a top U.S. House Rep. has clued Trump in on an extremely important secret.

While the Republican Party has been experiencing real change to the point that they look like an entirely different party from 20 years ago, there’s still so many neoconservative holdouts who are keeping the RINO (Republican In Name Only) tradition alive. There’s still several Republicans in the U.S. House and the U.S. Senate who sound like deep red conservatives in an election season, only to turn their backs on their promises when they get to Washington, D.C. for another term.

Unfortunately for Donald Trump, this makes his life harder because you can only do so much as the head of the executive branch. Sure, you can accomplish a lot alone. But you can seriously change the nation for the better when you have the support from Congress for good legislation.

It sounds like Donald Trump may be in for another fight with the RINO holdouts in Congress, based on what this outspoken Republican from Texas has to say about what’s going on inside Congress. Apparently, he knows of multiple individuals who are going to parrot Donald Trump only to disregard his agenda when the rubber hits the road and it’s time to vote on good bills that will change the status quo.

Chip Roy Warns of Quiet Resistance to Trump’s Agenda Within the GOP

Republican Rep. Chip Roy of Texas is sounding the alarm on the potential for quiet resistance to President-elect Donald Trump’s policies from within his own party. In a candid conversation with conservative commentator Todd Starnes, Roy voiced concerns that many GOP lawmakers are only paying lip service to Trump’s agenda, while actively working against it behind the scenes.

Roy’s assessment comes as he predicts a surge in excuses from Republican colleagues who may resist fully backing Trump’s initiatives. According to Roy, unless strong, consistent pressure is exerted, the GOP may fail to deliver on the promises that helped elevate Trump to the presidency in 2016.

“I think that Republicans in Congress are gonna give lip service to backing the president’s agenda and behind the scenes they’re going to be stonewalling it unless some of us can kick them right in the rear end and make them deliver,” Roy declared. He pointed out that the excuses are already starting to surface, with some Republicans citing obstacles like the lack of a 60-vote majority in the Senate. He also cited concerns over policies like mass deportation, suggesting that some are resisting even the idea of repatriating illegal immigrants.

Roy’s blunt message underscores the frustration many conservatives feel about GOP leadership’s failure to aggressively pursue the agenda voters elected Trump to implement. “You’re already hearing some of my colleagues say, ‘Well, we can’t do, you know, broad mass deportations,’ which by the way I think effectively just call it what it is, repatriation,” Roy added.

The Texas lawmaker’s frustration extends beyond Trump’s immigration policies to broader fiscal issues. Roy pointed to a recent vote in the House for the $200 billion Social Security Fairness Act, a bill that, according to Roy, could hasten the bankruptcy of the Social Security program. The bill, which aims to abolish two rules that diminish benefits for public sector workers, is backed by a significant bipartisan coalition. However, Roy warns that such legislation is just another example of Republicans in Washington passing costly bills that do little to address the nation’s financial future.

“You can’t just write another blank check. They just voted for $200 billion to re-shift Social Security funding from some people to others, which will cause their security to be bankrupt six months earlier,” Roy explained. “This is the natural way of things for Republicans in Washington. They need to understand they will change their ways or they will lose power. That’s it. I’m gonna be on the side of change. I’m gonna be on the side of disrupting the status quo.”

As the GOP prepares for its future under Trump, Roy is optimistic that there is still a sizable faction within the party that is committed to pushing forward Trump’s bold agenda. However, he cautioned that many within the party are in for a “rude awakening” if they continue to resist the changes needed to secure the nation’s future.

Roy also expressed his frustrations with the misuse of taxpayer dollars, particularly when it comes to funding the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which supports outlets like National Public Radio (NPR). “I own a news talk radio station in Memphis, Tennessee. One of the things that angers me is the money I earn from my private business goes to fund competition across the street over at NPR,” Roy said. “I would love, I’ve already sent a message to Elon and Vivek, I would love for them to just dismantle the funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.”

Roy’s sentiments align with the broader calls for reform voiced by figures like Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, who have championed the creation of a new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). This proposal aims to reduce federal regulations and staffing, addressing the bloated bureaucracy that many conservatives believe is undermining the effectiveness of government.

For Roy, the stakes could not be higher. He remains committed to challenging the status quo and pushing for the deep, structural changes needed to fulfill Trump’s promises and secure a prosperous future for the nation. Whether the GOP leadership can rise to the challenge will likely determine the future of the Party.
