Radical Leftists have officially lost their minds. Their actions are disturbing at this point.
And a Democrat Senator unleashed a disturbing rant against Elon Musk on social media.
Senator Tina Smith Slams Elon Musk Over Federal Worker Email
A recent move by Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has sparked a political firestorm, with Democratic Senator Tina Smith (D-Minn.) launching a scathing online attack against the billionaire. The controversy centers around an email sent to federal workers on Saturday, bearing the subject line, “What did you do last week?” and demanding a list of accomplishments by 11:59 a.m. on Monday.
The email, reminiscent of Musk’s abrupt management style at Tesla and SpaceX, instructed federal employees to submit five bullet points detailing their work — with a clear warning not to include any classified information.
What the email didn’t mention, however, was Musk’s public follow-up on X, where he declared, “failure to respond will be taken as a resignation.” He doubled down, adding, “the bar is very low here.”
Smith didn’t hold back her disdain, taking to X to call Musk a “d–k boss” for orchestrating the demand, despite not being a direct superior to these federal workers. “This is the ultimate d–k boss move from Musk – except he isn’t even the boss, he’s just a d—,” Smith wrote.
Reflecting on the situation, Smith drew parallels to toxic workplace dynamics many workers have experienced. “I bet a lot of people have had an experience like this with a bad boss — there’s an email in your inbox on Saturday night saying, ‘Prove to me your worthiness by Monday or else.’ I’m on the side of the workers, not the billionaire —hole bosses,” she added.
The backlash extended beyond Smith’s remarks, as several government departments instructed their employees not to respond to the email. Kash Patel’s FBI, for instance, told staff to “please pause any responses” and emphasized that personnel decisions remain firmly under bureau control.
The State Department also chimed in, informing its employees that “no employee is obligated to report their activities outside of their department chain of command.” Defense Department officials echoed this sentiment, advising staff to refrain from engaging with the OPM request.
Amid the uproar, Musk defended the email as a “very basic pulse check.” He went even further, claiming on X that some federal employees were so disengaged that they weren’t even checking their email. “The reason this matters is that a significant number of people who are supposed to be working for the government are doing so little work that they are not checking their email at all!” Musk argued.
He also raised an explosive allegation, suggesting that “In some cases, we believe non-existent people or the identities of dead people are being used to collect paychecks.”
The timing of the email added more fuel to the fire, coming soon after President Trump publicly encouraged Musk to “get more aggressive,” amid reports of growing tension between the administration and the DOGE leader.
In response, House Oversight Committee ranking member Gerry Connolly (D-Va.) sent a letter to acting OPM director Charles Ezell, urging him to “immediately clarify that federal employees’ nonresponse to this ill-conceived, weekend email does not constitute resignation.”
Federal unions, including the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU), have also rallied against the demand, advising their members not to reply.
They pointed out that their members don’t work for OPM and criticized the lack of interagency coordination. There are even murmurs of potential legal action, with unions hinting at lawsuits challenging OPM’s authority over employees from other departments.
Last week, labor unions filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, contending that OPM does not have the legal standing to oversee personnel matters across all federal agencies.
Despite the growing controversy, Musk’s DOGE team, working in tandem with OPM, claims to have saved taxpayers billions through various cost-cutting measures. The Trump administration has reportedly laid off or fired at least 20,000 federal workers in the past month alone.
But despite rising criticism from Leftists like Senator Smith, Elon Musk and Donald Trump aren’t stopping anytime soon with their efforts to overhaul the federal government.
