Donald Trump can’t believe it. This news could change everything.

And Trump’s agenda just got turned upside down after he received these game-changing letters.

Trump’s Trade Blitz: A New Era of Global Deals

In a whirlwind of diplomatic activity, the Trump administration has been flooded with 18 “written offers” from foreign trade ministers this week alone, signaling a robust push for new trade agreements.

Kevin Hassett, Director of the National Economic Council, shared this development with enthusiasm, highlighting the administration’s strategic approach to reshaping global trade dynamics.

Appearing on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle on Wednesday, Hassett emphasized that these negotiations are being conducted with precision and patience. “It’s going to happen in Trump time,” he declared, emphasizing a deliberate pace to ensure “carefully thought-out deals in anticipation of the actions that the president took.”

The administration, he noted, is not racing to the finish line but is instead focused on crafting agreements that align with its economic vision.

The momentum is palpable. U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer has a packed schedule, with at least 14 meetings lined up this week to hammer out details with international counterparts. This flurry of activity follows President Trump’s April 9 decision to pause most of his proposed “Liberation Day” tariffs for 90 days.

While the 10% baseline tariff remains, along with 25% tariffs on automotive imports, steel, aluminum, and non-compliant goods from Canada and Mexico under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), the pause offers a window for negotiations. China, however, faces a hefty 125% retaliatory tariff, layered atop a 20% rate tied to Trump’s fentanyl-related demands.

The clock is ticking. Countries have until July 8 to finalize deals, or they risk facing the steep, tailored tariff rates Trump unveiled earlier this month. Unlike the first Trump administration, which spent nearly two years renegotiating NAFTA into the USMCA, this round of talks is designed for speed.

A typical trade deal takes 18 months to complete, but the administration is pursuing streamlined agreements that bypass the need for congressional approval. “No, these deals very, very much can be negotiated with the US Trade Representative,” Hassett clarified, addressing concerns about legislative hurdles.

Trump himself struck an optimistic tone on Wednesday, hinting at flexibility with China’s tariffs. While the current 145% rate is substantial, he told reporters it “won’t be anywhere near that high … but it won’t be zero.”

Hassett echoed this confidence, painting a bright picture of global cooperation. “We’re very optimistic about China and especially optimistic about just about everybody else,” he said, noting progress with India, a country he described as one of the “worst offenders” on trade imbalances with the U.S.

Critics, including former NBC Chief Political Analyst Chuck Todd, have warned that Trump’s aggressive stance, particularly against China, could lead to supply chain disruptions or soaring consumer prices.

Hassett dismissed these concerns, asserting that “virtually every country on earth” is now at the negotiating table.

“The president has moved the world in a way that is unprecedented, and it’s in the direction of the American worker,” he said, crediting Trump’s bold strategy for the global response.

Hassett also predicted that Trump would personally take the stage to announce major breakthroughs. “He’ll announce it to the world first,” he said, signaling that the president intends to keep the spotlight on these victories.

As the July 8 deadline looms, the Trump administration is redefining the pace and scope of trade negotiations.

With a blend of urgency and optimism, it’s clear that this is no ordinary trade agenda—it’s a high-stakes gambit to reshape the global economic landscape, one deal at a time.
