Republicans are fighting to keep the country safe. They know it’s worth saving, no matter the cost.
And these GOP congressmen have proposed a new bill that will protect America from this heinous threat.
In a move to safeguard America’s foundational principles, Florida Congressman Randy Fine and Texas Representative Keith Self unveiled groundbreaking legislation on Friday aimed at blocking the insidious creep of Sharia law into the United States.
Dubbed the “No Shari’a Act,” this bill draws a firm line in the sand, declaring that no aspect of Sharia can be applied if it clashes with constitutional freedoms. A draft of the measure, obtained by The Daily Wire, makes it crystal clear that foreign legal systems have no place undermining Americans’ way of life.
Both lawmakers are unapologetic about their motivations, framing the act as a vital defense of Western traditions against the encroachment of radical Islamic ideologies that threaten to reshape the nation from within.
“We are not going to become a Muslim nation. There are plenty out there,” Fine said to The Daily Wire. “If you want to live under Sharia, return to where you came from, but we’re not interested in you coming here and conquering our country.”
Fine’s words capture the frustration many Americans feel as waves of immigration bring conflicting values that don’t align with America’s Judeo-Christian heritage and rule of law.
Over in Texas, Rep. Self points to real-world examples where Sharia’s shadow is already looming, insisting that such influences must be stamped out before they take root.
“We cannot have two sets of laws,” Self said to The Daily Wire. “There is one in the United States. It’s called the U.S. Constitution and the state laws under states of course, but we cannot have two different civilizations with different laws.”
Self’s stance highlights the growing divide in communities where parallel societies emerge, operating under rules that defy American norms and equality.
The spark for this urgency in Texas stems from the controversial EPIC City project near Dallas, envisioned as an all-Muslim enclave that raised alarms about potential Sharia governance slipping in.
Opponents of the development fear it could become a breeding ground for practices that erode America’s legal system, turning parts of the Lone Star State into no-go zones for traditional American values.
At its core, the legislation affirms that “the Constitution of the United States is and must remain the supreme law of the land, and no foreign law or legal system may be permitted to undermine it.”
It goes further, mandating that “no court shall enforce a judgment, decree, or arbitration decision if it relies, in whole or in part, on Shari’a or any foreign law that violates the constitutional rights of any party.”
This provision acts as a shield, ensuring judges can’t bow to international pressures or cultural relativism that might compromise justice for everyday Americans.
Fine also drew attention to a shocking incident in Dearborn, Michigan, where a Christian local faced hostility from Muslim Mayor Abdullah Hammoud after criticizing a street that’s being named for Arab American publisher Osama Siblani.
“We do not want to replicate this barbaric Middle Age philosophy in this country, and we need to make that clear, this is not welcome in the United States,” Fine stated. “We need to respond to the Islamists saying Christians are not welcome in Dearborn by saying, no, you are not welcome here.”
Such episodes, Fine argues, expose the intolerance baked into Sharia, which has no room in a nation built on religious liberty and mutual respect.
Self didn’t mince words about the horrors endorsed under Sharia, listing child marriages, spousal abuse by husbands, so-called honor k*llings, and female g*nital mutilation as direct affronts to America’s civilized society.
He emphasized that these atrocities are “not compatible with U.S. law, U.S. Constitution, and our civilization,” emphasizing the need for proactive measures to preserve the United States’s cultural integrity.
