Joe Biden and Kamala Harris aren’t on the best terms right now. A new report details just how much bad blood there is between the two.
And a bitter feud between Biden and Harris causes the White House to erupt in flames.
President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden’s relationship with Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband, Doug Emhoff, has reportedly grown strained following Harris’s loss to President-elect Donald Trump.
According to a report by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), the dynamic between the two families has been described as “frosty” in private, citing individuals familiar with the situation.
Harris assumed the role of the Democratic presidential nominee after Biden bowed out of the race in July, under significant pressure from within the party.
While Biden’s decision to step aside was praised as a selfless act, it has been met with increasing scrutiny since Trump’s victory, with some questioning the timing of his withdrawal.
The WSJ revealed that Jill Biden’s dissatisfaction with Harris dates back to the 2020 Democratic primary debates when Harris criticized Biden for his stance on federally mandated busing policies. The first lady’s reservations were corroborated by sources close to both families, the report said.
Despite the claims of tension, White House spokesperson Andrew Bates and Vice President Harris’ representative, Kristen Allen, denied any discord, asserting that the relationship between the Bidens and the Harris family remains solid.
Frustrations reportedly grew within Harris’ team during the final stretch of the campaign. Biden’s unexpected appearances in October — including one in the White House briefing room — raised eyebrows, especially after his controversial remarks calling Trump supporters “garbage.”
The White House later clarified Biden’s statement, claiming it was not intended as an insult.

Throughout the campaign, Harris defended Biden from criticism over his age, health, and capacity to serve, even after he withdrew from the race.
However, behind closed doors, Biden has expressed regret over his decision to step aside, according to a Washington Post report. He reportedly told aides he believes he could have defeated Trump.
This belief, however, is not universally shared among Biden’s closest advisers. According to the WSJ, some within his circle have expressed doubts about his chances had he remained in the race.
The mood inside the White House has been described as increasingly “draining” and “depressing” in recent weeks, according to the WSJ.
Biden has also privately acknowledged other missteps during his presidency, including his performance in debates and his choice of Merrick Garland as attorney general, according to the Washington Post.
As the transition to the new administration approaches, questions linger over how the fractures within the Democratic leadership will impact the party moving forward.
If tensions like what we’re seeing between Biden and Harris exist in other capacities in the Democrat Party, then the party could be in major trouble as it tries to regroup from it’s resounding defeats in the 2024 elections.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump and his team are gladly watching this all play out as they prepare to enter Washington, D.C. in the coming weeks and radically change how the government is operated in order to put Americans first.
