Political tension is heating up in America. But this politician took things too far.
And a congressman threatened Tucker Carlson’s life in a terrifying exchange.
In a dramatic off-the-cuff moment that quickly made waves, Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas), a retired Navy SEAL, was caught on a hot mic Monday declaring that he would “’f–king k*ll’” right-wing commentator Tucker Carlson, emphasizing he was “not joking.”
The candid remark came after an interview with British outlet GB News, during which Crenshaw’s disdain for Carlson was on full display. The tension stems largely from Carlson’s vocal opposition to U.S. support for Ukraine.
After wrapping up the interview, GB News’ Steven Edginton asked Crenshaw if he had ever met Carlson.
“We’ve talked a lot on Twitter,” Crenshaw responded with an eye roll. “If I ever meet him, I’ll f–king k*ll him.
“No, seriously, I’ll k*ll him,” the Texas congressman said. “He’s the worst person I’ve ever met.”
A spokesperson for Crenshaw later downplayed the comments, responding with a quick, “No, of course not” when asked if the threat was genuine.
The animosity between the two is nothing new. Carlson and Crenshaw have clashed for years over foreign policy. Carlson has often accused Crenshaw of being too hawkish, while Crenshaw has labeled Carlson a stooge of Russia and a “cowardly, know-nothing elitist.”
Following the viral hot-mic moment, Carlson wasted no time responding, inviting Crenshaw to discuss their differences face-to-face.
“Why don’t you come sit for an interview, and we’ll see how you do? I’ll send you my address,” Carlson posted on X.
The feud even drew in Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who weighed in by asking Crenshaw directly on X, “Did you threaten to k*ll my friend @TuckerCarlson?”
Crenshaw quickly dismissed the notion, replying, “Lol, no.”
During his GB News appearance, Crenshaw didn’t hold back his criticism of Carlson, questioning the commentator’s credibility.
“Tucker doesn’t know what he’s talking about. He likes to visit Moscow and talk about how great the grocery stores are — I don’t take his advice seriously,” Crenshaw stated.
Carlson has previously taken jabs at Crenshaw, once calling him the “single-most left-wing” Republican in Congress and mockingly dubbing him “Eye Patch McCain,” a reference to the late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and his well-known support for aggressive foreign policy.
Crenshaw lost his right eye in an explosion while deployed in Afghanistan in 2012, a blast that also severely injured his left eye, leading to multiple surgeries.
Their feud has played out across social media, with Crenshaw firing back at Carlson last year on X.
“Tucker’s MO is simple: defend America’s enemies and attack America’s allies. There isn’t an objective bone left in that washed up news host’s body,” Crenshaw wrote at the time. “A cowardly, know-nothing elitist who is full of sh—.”
Despite the high-profile spat, Crenshaw remains a prominent figure within the House Republican conference. According to GovTrack, he ranks among the more conservative members and serves on the House Intelligence Committee. A veteran of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Crenshaw has consistently voiced strong opinions on foreign policy — even when they conflict with his party.
