Americans are tired of Washington, D.C. political games. They are demanding answers.
Now a U.S. Senate Democrat is about to be kicked out of Congress in dramatic fashion.
It’s exceedingly difficult to unseat a career politician serving in Congress in Washington, D.C. these days. The system is set up to make it easier for a career politician to keep their grip on power than it is for an outsider to shake things up by winning a seat in Congress.
While that’s generally true, the American voters are, more than in recent decades, fed up with the stagnation rut that Congress has been in for the past ten years. It seems like nothing can get done outside of no-brainer bills that are just unanimously passed. It seems like every year there’s a big government funding fight, and the result is always more debt added to the federal government.
This cycle has Americans ready for new individuals in Congress and it means the career politicians are in trouble. One such career Congressional politician is Democrat Jon Tester from Montana.
Polls Show Jon Tester In Jeopardy Of Losing To Political Newcomer
Republican Tim Sheehy is leading Democratic incumbent Jon Tester in Montana’s crucial Senate race, according to a new AARP poll released on Thursday. The outcome of this race could potentially shift control of the Senate to the GOP.
In a head-to-head matchup, Sheehy holds a six-point advantage over Tester, with 51% to 45% respectively. The gap widens in a four-way race, where Sheehy leads Tester by eight points, 49% to 41%. Libertarian candidate Sid Daoud and Green Party candidate Michael Downey received 4% and 1% of the vote, respectively.
Sheehy, a former Navy SEAL and Purple Heart recipient, has secured the endorsement of former President Donald Trump. Trump’s popularity in Montana appears to be bolstering Sheehy’s campaign, as the former president leads Vice President Kamala Harris by a significant margin in the state, 56% to 41%.
Donald Trump endorsed the former Navy SEAL in a Truth Social post back in February when he called on Montana citizens to kick out “Lazy Jon” from the Senate chamber and replace him with Tim Sheehy.
The poll reveals that Republicans make up nearly 40% of likely voters in Montana, while Democrats account for only about a quarter. This electoral landscape poses a challenge for Tester, who will need substantial support from independent voters to secure reelection.
Tester, who has held his seat since 2006, has won previous elections by narrow margins. His campaign has attempted to appeal to Montana voters by emphasizing his willingness to work across party lines and stand up to his own party when necessary.
The AARP poll, conducted from August 25-29, surveyed 1,064 likely Montana voters and has a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points. As the race heats up, it’s clear that the Montana Senate contest will be a key battleground in determining the balance of power in the U.S. Senate.
Jon Tester has tried in recent campaign ads to distance himself from Washington, D.C. because he feels where the political winds are blowing. But it appears his citizens back home in Montana aren’t buying what he’s selling.

Without being able to rely on the Montana U.S. Senate seat remaining blue after November, Democrats are looking at a seriously tough time of holding on to Senate control when the dust settles after the elections. Chuck Schumer is likely looking at kissing his Senate Majority Leader role goodbye after a few more months.
