Kamala Harris is already seeking a comeback. There’s one problem with that.

And Fox News just slapped Kamala Harris across the face with this harsh reality check.

The truth is that Kamala Harris was always a bad candidate for President to begin with. There’s a reason she got nowhere fast in her 2020 bid for President when she was an early “dark horse” who had all the fundraising behind her. The truth is, the people just didn’t want her. Not even the Democrat voting base wanted her over anyone else in the Democrat primary picture. Let alone the fact that she would have been a terrible 2020 general election candidate, as she learned in her 2024 general election bid against Donald Trump.

Despite all this, there are rumors flying that she’s already plotting a comeback, with some of her staff saying that Donald Trump’s comeback is what is inspiring her to follow in his footsteps. Reportedly, some of her allies are telling her that if Donald Trump can do it, so can she. That’s definitely wishful thinking that’s not based in reality at all, but there are a few 2024 Harris campaign officials who are putting this bug in her ear.

Fox News picked up on this news recently, but they have a harsh reality check for Kamala Harris and her allies. If she is the future of the Democrat Party in any significant way, that’s not a good look for Kamala Harris or the Democrats. That means that the Democrats are even weaker than anyone ever thought if they turn to Harris once more for a general election bid in 2028 or 2032. If there’s no one else better than her, that’s just really bad for team blue and there’s no way around it. This is Fox News’ nice way of saying she is one of the worst national politicians in modern American history.

Kamala Harris’s Political Viability Questioned Amidst Weak Democratic Bench, Says Tammy Bruce

Fox News contributor Tammy Bruce sparked a discussion on the future of Vice President Kamala Harris, asserting that the only reason Harris remains a viable candidate within the Democratic Party is due to the “weak bench” of potential presidential contenders. According to Bruce, Harris’s prominence and political trajectory could have been different had the Democratic Party fostered stronger alternatives.

Bruce’s comments came on Varney and Company when she spoke with guest host Ashley Webster, offering a critical analysis of Harris’s rise to political stardom. Bruce pointed out that Harris’s standing in American politics, particularly her status as the leading Democratic contender for the 2028 election, is largely attributed to the lack of strong competition within her party.

“Some people are professional candidates,” Bruce remarked. “Now, she has won office, right? I mean, she has done well, inexplicably. She did — it continues to concern me that she received as many votes as she did, but that is something that the legacy media contributes to, and party loyalty contributes to, but all Americans across the board are waking up.”

In Bruce’s view, Harris owes much of her political survival to party loyalty and media coverage rather than to a genuine appeal based on a clear vision or leadership. She continued, emphasizing the relative weakness of the Democratic Party’s roster of candidates: “This is a woman who, because of the weakness of the Democratic bench, she becomes a star. And if the Democratic bench expands, if Democrats vote people in who know what they’re doing and can explain a vision, then the value of someone like Kamala Harris or the appeal of her will wane.”

Bruce also offered a perspective on what might lie ahead for Harris, suggesting that she could potentially pursue a different political path, such as running for governor of California. However, Bruce was skeptical about Harris’s willingness to explore alternative roles. “In California you can — I suppose she might have a shot at something, if she wants to run for governor, but she’s not going to go and do something new,” Bruce noted. “Many people forget to think about that, you know, maybe you should try something else. There are other things in life. But, you know, for politicians at her level, there’s really nothing else in their minds that they can do, so it’s going to be up to the Democrats. But if they had a bigger bench and a stronger bench, she would not, I think, be in the position she’s in.”

Despite losing to former President Donald Trump in the 2024 election, Harris remains the leading Democratic contender for the 2028 nomination, according to recent polling data compiled by FiveThirtyEight.com. In those surveys, Harris tops a field that includes Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg and California Governor Gavin Newsom, both of whom are considered potential rivals for the party’s future leadership.

Harris’s post-2024 strategy, however, has drawn mixed reactions. After President Joe Biden’s surprise announcement in July that he would not seek reelection, Harris and her running mate, Democratic Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota, largely avoided media engagements until a more concerted push in October. One liberal pundit suggested that this strategy, particularly Walz’s limited media exposure, contributed to his poor performance during the vice-presidential debate on October 1.

Further drawing attention to Harris’s approach to public relations, she chose not to attend the Al Smith Dinner in person, instead opting to release a video in collaboration with former Saturday Night Live cast member Molly Shannon, which was played at the charity event. Her decision to bypass the event and the media blitz surrounding her absence raised eyebrows, as it further isolated her from direct engagement with the public and potential voters.

Perhaps most notably, Harris declined an invitation to sit for an interview with popular podcaster Joe Rogan. Reports suggest that her campaign team was concerned about potential backlash from such a high-profile, informal appearance, believing it could harm her public image. According to sources, this decision may have cost her valuable support, especially among certain voter demographics.
